Meditation is a tool to help build your attention and concentration. Wherever you place your awareness (attention) is where you place your energy (concentrating). These are automatic actions we do everyday that shape how we see the world.

For example, if all that you think about is the next email, task, or what could have been different in the past…. then you are placing all of your attention into the past and future so that’s where all of your concentration(energy) goes. This keeps you trapped in a loop of thought and NOT in the PRESENT.

I’m not saying that you should not think about your past or future, but that you CONTROL how much energy you put into creating a new future or re-creating the familiar past by where you put your attention.
